JEWELLERY CARE AND INFORMATION

Sterling Silver may tarnish and oxidise, with time

Sterling Silver may tarnish and oxidise, with time.

This is a natural reaction to chemicals in the atmosphere, heat and the body oils of the wearer. Discoloration can usually be removed by using a silver jewellery cleaning cloth.

Harsh chemicals: perfumes, nail polish remover etc. and certain topical chemical lotions can tarnish and or damage jewelry, please be mindful of not directly spraying your jewelry with perfume. Avoid contact with water and soap.

Store your jewelry in separete ziplock bag to prevent the development of tarnish.

Always store your Mikelajewelery pieces in a cool, dry, safe place away from extreme heat, steam and humidity.

Plated and Oxidised Jewellery

Please note with the time the gold and ruthenium plated will fade, so you have to take care of your jewels as indicate above. You can re-plate theme if necessary.

Oxidisation will fade off in time with regular wear and tear, but can always be reapplied.

How do I determine my bracelet size?

  • Step 1: Measure your wrist just below the wrist bone, where one would normally wear a bracelet, with a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper.
  • Step 2: If you are using a plain strip of paper, then measure that paper strip with a ruler to determine your wrist size.
  • Step 3: Add 1/4 inch to 1 inch (average is 1/2 inch) to your wrist size, depending on whether you would like a snug, comfort, or loose fit. This is the ideal bracelet length for you.

How should a bracelet fit?

A great bracelet fits loosely so it moves a little, but not loose enough to slide off the hand.

  • Link: You should be able to slide one or two fingers between the chain and the wrist; fortunately, most link bracelets are adjustable in length.
  • Bangle: A bangle band can fit closely or loosely on the wrist; it shouldn’t slide over the heel of the hand too easily.
  • Cuff: A cuff bracelet which is a bangle that isn’t closed, is meant to fit tightly on the wrist or the forearm; adjust the cuff so it doesn’t pinch.

Measuring a Good Fitting Bangle or Bangle Bracelet

Measure the inner diameter of a good fitting bangle or bangle bracelet you have. Compare the measurement to the above chart and determine your bangle size. This is a pretty accurate way to measure your bangle size. Still need help, Contact Us. Bangles and most Bangle Bracelets don’t have a closure; they need to be slipped over the hand. So an accurate measurement is necessary for a good fit. If your buying a gift for someone, get the 2.8 Size, (Medium size).

Other countries label their ring sizes differently

Please refer to the chart below to find out your ring size.
Please make sure to order the right finger size. I advise to go 3/4 to 1 size larger when purchasing wider bands or stacking rings.
